Designed around an original Isaac Newton edition £1 note from the early 80's. Newton of course discovered gravity after an apple fell from a tree he was sitting under.
I researched the value of apple shares in the mid '80's to find the value was £1. I also read that the inspiration from the Apple branding may have came from the scientist Alan Turing with the relevance being that it is widely believed that Turing took his own life after taking a bite from a cyanide laced apple. Turing of course was charged with homosexuality in 1952 despite his amazing achievements in ending the war early.
Turing was recently pardoned.
I used all this inspiration to create this note featuring recessed and cut apple, featuring the six colours of the pride flag
